The Melton Creative Arts Hub is a unique and exciting collaboration between MV16 and the IGNITE Performing Arts Team at SMB College Group’s Melton Campus

Designed to provide a creative route for A Level students. This partnership will allow students to choose a range of A Level subjects across our two sites - providing a unique Further Education experience for students in the local area. You will be able to choose any three of the following A Levels to build your programme and to tie in with your desired career direction:

• Drama & Theatre
• Media Studies
• Photography
• Art and Design
• Textiles
• Graphic Design
• English Language & Literature
• English Literature

With access to specialist equipment and outstanding tutors at both MV16 and IGNITE Performing Arts at SMB College Group, this is a real chance to build your career in a local environment with your choices driving you where you want to go.

• Drama and Theatre students will have the opportunity to regularly rehearse and perform at the soon to be refurbished Melton Theatre

• Other benefits include workshops with industry professionals, trips to see performances and exhibitions, and access to mentoring programmes

• Students who successfully complete the programme with an A Level in Drama & Theatre will also be offered a place on the IGNITE Degree level qualification at SMB College Group’s Melton Campus!

Entry Requirements

• GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 plus a minimum of three additional GCSEs at Grade 5 or above

• To undertake A Level Art and Design you will need to provide a portfolio that shows your skills and interest in this area (which could be your GCSE work)

• For A level Drama & Theatre you will also need to complete an audition at SMB College Group’s Melton Campus
